Have you ever visited a blog and see that readers have made comments on a post, but the owner of the blog does not respond? When I see that, it makes me think www.oc-classicjazz.org the owner of the blog does not care about their readers. They don't want to establish relationships with their existing audience in order to build trust and loyalty. How does that appear to new visitors to their blog? Is it possible for them to feel insignificant and not want to visit a blog again? My answer would be "No."

Therefore, when someone posts a legitimate comment on your blog post (not spam), make sure you take the time to interact. It will show your professionalism, your dedication to your current audience, and your desire to appeal to new readers.

It's easy to explain why commenters should interact with you, but it is not difficult to think, " How do I get people comments?"

Ask a Question

At the end of your article, ask your readers a question. People love to share their opinions and/or their experiences, especially when asked. Some questions you could ask are:

What do you think?

Do you have any experience with xxx? Do you have any experience with xxx?

Do you have any other tips that I missed?

Upload a Video

Video has been a big hit on the Internet, as many of you already know. People love to watch them. They seem more personal, which brings out the emotions of your readers. This will result in more comments. You can still post a video but you should include written content and ask the question above. It may surprise you to see how much interaction you get from your audience.

Get Personal

Even if you are writing a blog post that is serious in nature, add a personal story within the content. I see many bloggers do this. Bloggers will tell about something that happened to them, then explain the facts. Just like this article. I started out sharing how I have felt when I see a blog and there are no comments from the blog owner and how important that should be done.

When you share something personal, it motivates readers to share their own story. It will not only get them to comment but it will also help you to learn more about your audience.

Comments on Other Blogs

Comment on a blog post you enjoyed reading. Many times, the blog owner or other readers will visit your site and may comment on one your blog posts.

I have even seen people post, "Blog Comment Exchanges" on some of the social media networks. They list their blog URL and then everyone takes the time to go in and comment on each others' blogs. Personally, I have not participated in these because it does not seem natural to me. But that is my preference. It may work for you! It may work for you, but I recommend that you keep your eyes open for spammers and ensure you are comfortable with other bloggers who have posted their blogs.

Be Controversial

If you do not mind debates, write a blog post about a potentially heated topic. These types of posts are very popular and people love to voice their opinion. They feel compelled to share their opinions and express their feelings. I don't read many blog posts that are targeted at this topic because I don't enjoy debates. However, I do see posts on Social Media that do the exact same thing and get lots of comments.

Report News

People are motivated by newsworthy topics, much like controversies. Write a blog post about news stories that are relevant to your niche. Include a portion of the original news article, with proper attribution. Explain why you do or don't agree with what was written or just be neutral and pass on the information.

These types of posts are easy to understand by readers who have read other articles about them and want to share that information in a comment.
